Jody holds a B.A. in English Literature and a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction, both from the University of Texas. She taught English Literature in high school for 10 years, mainly in Advanced Placement literature courses, which allowed her to introduce a new generation to Chaucer, Shakespeare, John Donne, and other masters of the English language.
She then went on to 20 years in the corporate world, in companies as diverse as start-ups, global conglomerates, and credit unions. As a Learning and Development professional, she designed, developed, and delivered programs around leadership, individual and team development, and other adult learning topics.
A proud “word nerd,” she has a love of learning and language that began when she taught herself to read at the age of four and has endured throughout her life. Although the English language is her first love, she is intrigued by other languages and is currently undergoing the arduous but satisfying task of becoming fluent in French.
